Lindsay Clancy, a 35-year-old former nurse from Massachusetts, is set to go on trial this week accused of killing her three young children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday morning, July 21st, 2026, in Plymouth Superior Court.

Clancy's husband, Patrick Clancy, is expected to testify on her behalf. He is among more than 200 potential witnesses.

Central to the case are allegations detailed in an amended complaint filed in Norfolk Superior Court. Lindsay Clancy claims that a network of psychiatric providers misdiagnosed her bipolar disorder with postpartum onset, failed to properly treat her condition, and prescribed a changing regimen of medications that allegedly worsened her postpartum psychosis prior to the tragedy in January 2026.

The complaint accuses the defendants of medical malpractice and negligence, stating they failed to recognize that Clancy’s reported "intrusive thoughts" were actually auditory hallucinations that made her a danger to herself and her children.

According to the lawsuit, "Lindsay Clancy did everything a mother in her situation could do," seeking treatment, visiting emergency rooms, contacting crisis services, admitting herself to hospitals, and repeatedly reporting worsening symptoms. The complaint notes that Clancy began showing signs of hypomania soon after giving birth to Callan in May 2022.
