The US military is carrying out its seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran following US President Donald Trump's declaration that a temporary ceasefire agreement was "over." According to the US military Central Command (Centcom), the strikes are "designed to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities at the Commander in Chief's direction" and have targeted exclusively military sites, including military logistics infrastructure.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) claimed that two oil tankers exploded and caught fire while passing through a mined section of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's state-run Fars agency echoed this, reporting the explosions occurred on a mined route south of the strait. Iranian media also reported explosions in the central city of Yazd, Qeshm island, and the port of Bandar Abbas near the strait.

However, Centcom dismissed the IRGC's tanker explosion claims as false, posting on X that "Like most IRGC claims, this is false."

Earlier reports from Kuwaiti officials indicated that Iranian drone strikes had injured several Kuwaiti soldiers and damaged a power plant and water desalination stations. Additionally, sources told the BBC's US partner CBS News that several American service members were injured during Iranian attacks on two Jordanian bases over the past week.

Provincial authorities in Iran's Hormozgan province reported that seven people were killed in the attacks. BBC Verify and BBC Persian have confirmed footage showing damage to the Gariveh Bridge, including night videos depicting a ball of flames atop the structure.

The situation remains tense as the US continues its military campaign against Iran, with conflicting accounts emerging regarding the impact and targets of recent strikes.
