The U.S. military launched a wave of strikes against Iran on Friday, July 17th, marking the seventh consecutive day of operations aimed at degrading Tehran's military capabilities. Central Command stated that the military has widened its strikes in recent days, targeting locations across the nation.

On Thursday, July 16th, U.S. forces struck the southern coast of Iran, including bridges around Bandar Abbas, a strategic port city. Early Friday morning, additional strikes hit bridges and energy sites within Iran.

In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed attacks on U.S. bases in the Gulf region, including Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The IRGC also asserted it attacked a U.S. special operations command center at the al-Tanf garrison military base in Syria, though this claim has not been independently confirmed.

Iran has also targeted Persian Gulf allies by firing drones and missiles at Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

President Trump stated on Thursday night that the U.S. is “winning” significantly in Iran and promised the American public would soon see the “fruits of that labor.”

Separately, Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao reported that a flight debrief was completed following a Wednesday flyover during the annual “Breakfast with the Blues” air show event, which caused tents and umbrellas to fly. Cao noted there were “no reprimands” related to the incident.
