Two sisters from Utah, Libby and Aubrey Birrell, recently went viral after discovering a framed beach photo of their own family hanging on the wall of an Airbnb rental home in Oceanside, San Diego. The discovery occurred in early July while the sisters and about 30 relatives were celebrating their grandfather's 80th birthday.
The sisters believe the photo was taken roughly 10 years ago at either Mission Beach or Imperial Beach during a family trip for their brother's soccer tournament. Aubrey Birrell said, "She must have captured us when we were there," referring to the photographer.
The moment they saw the picture, they called everyone to see it, leaving the group in awe. Aubrey shared, "I started FaceTiming my friends because they all know my family. They were in shock, too. It was crazy."
Despite the excitement, the sisters admitted feeling "creeped out" the first night they stayed in the rental. Aubrey said, "The first time we were sleeping, I will say we were creeped out."
The family’s unexpected encounter with their own history in a vacation rental has since been explained but remains a memorable experience for the Birrell family.
