Protests in Kyiv have entered a second day as demonstrators demand the dismissal of Ukraine's commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi. The unrest follows a surprise cabinet reshuffle by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which notably did not include the reappointment of the popular defence minister, Mykhailo Fedorov.

Fedorov, 35, has been widely credited with contributing to Ukraine's recent military successes in its ongoing war with Russia. His removal has sparked significant public backlash amid growing frustration with the government’s decisions.

The protests highlight the tensions within Ukraine as the country continues to navigate the challenges posed by the conflict with Russia.
