OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney, accused in the 2022 death of Christian Obumseli, is seeking to prevent prosecutors from using alleged prior violent incidents to portray her as the aggressor in her upcoming Miami-Dade murder trial.

According to defense motions filed on July 1, Clenney will argue she acted "in self-defense and as a battered spouse." Her lawyers have requested that a Miami-Dade judge allow them to introduce Obumseli’s 2020 arrest warrant from Austin, Texas, if the state characterizes him as peaceful or nonviolent.

The warrant, attached to the defense filing, accuses Obumseli of cruelty to a nonlivestock animal, a Class A misdemeanor, in Travis County, Texas. Defense records describe apartment staff discovering Obumseli’s dog, Halo, dead inside a kennel in a closet after an apartment was abandoned. A veterinary pathologist concluded the dog likely died from dehydration due to water deprivation, with investigators estimating the dog had been dead for five to seven days before discovery.

Clenney fatally stabbed Obumseli with a kitchen knife and was reportedly covered in bruises after the incident. The defense is attempting to shift the narrative ahead of trial by highlighting Obumseli’s alleged history of violence.
