On July 18, 2026, Dutch club Ajax announced the signing of Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for a fee just under €20 million euros ($22.88 million).

The 23-year-old forward has committed to a five-year contract with the Eredivisie club. Leonardo joined Al-Hilal in 2024 from Portuguese club Benfica and made a significant impact, scoring 48 goals in 82 appearances.

One of his most notable performances came during the 2025 Club World Cup, where he scored twice, including an extra-time winner, helping Al-Hilal defeat Manchester City 4–3 to reach the quarter-finals.

Leonardo's transfer marks Ajax's third signing in the current transfer window, following the arrivals of left-back Caio Henrique from Monaco and Daley Blind, who rejoined Ajax as a free agent after his contract with Girona expired.
