In May 2026, Mediacorp actor Richard Low, affectionately known as Limpeh, was hospitalised for six days after suddenly losing control of his bowel and bladder. The 74-year-old revealed his hospitalisation was caused by diverticular disease, a condition where small pouch-like sacs develop in the wall of the large intestine, which in his case led to intestinal bleeding.

Low recounted that he first noticed blood in his stool one morning and feared a recurrence of a similar episode he experienced 20 years prior. Despite feeling physically fine earlier that day and filming a video for The OG Gang, he sought medical attention in the afternoon with his wife.

During his hospital stay, Low underwent various tests and was restricted to liquids for several days, losing 5kg in the process. When asked about his health recently, he told local news outlet Zaobao that he is "temporarily okay." Two months after the incident, he appeared in good spirits at the press conference for Mediacorp's upcoming drama "Old & Dangerous," where he plays a retired Special Operations Force officer.

Low continues to manage his condition through lifestyle adjustments, including reducing fried food and alcohol intake. He also remains active in the entertainment scene, appearing in productions such as "We Are Number 1."
