Newly released bodycam video from the Yarmouth Police Department shows Nantucket Planning Director Leslie Snell appearing to struggle during field sobriety tests after allegedly crashing her Jeep into a street sign on April 20, 2026.

Police responded to the incident after Snell reportedly collided with the sign, according to the Nantucket Current. The video shows Snell seated in her Jeep with the driver's door open while being questioned by a Yarmouth police officer.

Snell told the officer she had "just a couple of drinks" at Giardinos, a local restaurant, before the incident. Inside the vehicle, a bottle of vodka and a box of White Claws were visible.

According to a police report, Officer Samantha Voltolini noted that Snell's eyes were "blood shot" and detected a moderate odor of alcohol from the vehicle, which intensified upon speaking with Snell.

The officer expressed confusion over how Snell ended up in the parking lot of the Transmission Specialists, given that Giardinos was only a short distance away.

Following her arrest, Snell told The Inquirer and Mirror, "I deeply regret the event that occurred off-island on April 20 while I was attending to personal commitments. I accept full responsibility for my actions and the matter has been resolved."

Snell has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) in connection with the crash.
