In Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, renowned musician Batzorig Vaanchig is actively promoting the traditional vocal art of throat singing, known as khoomei. Through live performances, studio recordings, and international collaborations, Vaanchig combines traditional techniques with digital platforms to reach a broader global audience.

Accompanied by the traditional horsehead fiddle, he regularly performs in Mongolia's capital and appears in television productions, while also sharing khoomei on social media and global stages. His work aims to preserve this centuries-old practice and inspire a new generation of singers both within Mongolia and internationally.

The unique sound of khoomei has been recognized by UNESCO as part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage. It has increasingly been featured in film scores, documentaries, and video game soundtracks, contributing to its revival after a period when it was at risk of fading away.

Despite growing interest among younger Mongolians, Vaanchig emphasizes that more efforts are needed to secure the future of this ancient art form.
