Baltimore police are actively searching for six suspects accused of assaulting an elderly man and attempting to rob him outside a 7-Eleven in the city's Northern District.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, the incident occurred just before 4 a.m. on July 7, 2026, at the 7-Eleven on Liberty Heights Avenue. Surveillance video shows the group, all wearing hooded sweatshirts, running up to the man, knocking him to the ground multiple times, and throwing objects at him. The footage also appears to show one suspect pointing what looks like an assault rifle and another wielding a sword during the attack.
The victim sustained minor bruising from the assault.
Despite this violent incident, Baltimore has reported a 23.1% decrease in homicides and a 2.5% decrease in non-fatal shootings compared to the same date last year, marking the fewest homicides ever recorded in the city through the first six months of a calendar year.
Separately, the Department of Justice announced that Florida men have been indicted in an armed home invasion case where a suspect posed as a utility worker and zip-tied a 13-year-old.
Police continue to seek information on the suspects involved in the 7-Eleven attack.
