Abdikerm Abdelahi Eidleh, 42, of Burnsville, Minnesota, was arrested on June 26 in Somalia and extradited to the United States on Thursday, July 16, 2026, to face 31 counts in connection with the massive $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, the FBI announced.

Federal prosecutors allege Eidleh masterminded a scheme that exploited federal child nutrition programs designed to feed vulnerable children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding Our Future allegedly operated an "access-for-payment" scheme, where operators of fraudulent meal sites funneled a portion of illicit proceeds back to employees, including Eidleh, often disguising these payments as consulting fees through shell companies.

FBI Director Kash Patel called the extradition "a historic moment in the FBI’s war on fraud," noting that the FBI has already secured over 70 guilty pleas from fraudsters involved in the Minnesota case in partnership with the Justice Department. Patel emphasized the commitment to pursuing fraudsters regardless of where they attempt to hide.

Fox News contributor Dan Bongino highlighted the complexities of investigating such financial crimes due to the extensive data involved and advocated for legislative reforms to strengthen verification processes for government aid to prevent future fraud.

The FBI previously raided the offices of the Minnesota nonprofit Feeding Our Future following accusations that its partners defrauded the federal government of millions of dollars.

"These are individuals who stole critical, taxpayer-funded resources from kids in need during the COVID pandemic—and Eidleh was allegedly right at the top of the operation," authorities said.
