The night of July 15, 2016, marked a pivotal moment in Turkiye’s modern history when a coup attempt by the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) was decisively foiled by the Turkish people’s courageous response. This event is remembered as one of the longest and most defining nights in the nation’s collective memory, symbolizing the resolve of a people ready to defend their state and democratic achievements.

A decade later, Turkiye has transformed this threat into a victory that ushered in a period of enhanced diplomatic, economic, and military strength. At the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025, Turkiye unveiled 26 new defence products, including the Tayfun Block 4, the country’s first domestically produced hypersonic ballistic missile, and the steel dome intensified air defence concept.

More recently, at the SAHA 2026 Defence and Aerospace Exhibition in Istanbul, the Ministry of National Defence presented Yildirimhan, Turkiye’s first intercontinental ballistic missile. These advancements reflect Turkiye’s growing defence capabilities and commitment to national security.
