Millions of Americans face the devastating impact of Alzheimer’s disease, witnessing its toll on families and friends. However, five patients from across the United States have shared their experiences of reclaiming their lives through early diagnosis and new anti-amyloid treatments. These treatments have shown promise in slowing the progression of cognitive decline, restoring independence, and adding meaningful time.

The patients emphasize the importance of early detection, noting that following expert guidelines—such as regular exercise, healthy diets, and staying mentally and socially active—can help reduce the risk of cognitive decline. One patient, Brent Beasley, was photographed sailing on Clinton Lake in fall 2025, illustrating life beyond diagnosis. Beasley also recounted going from not making his high school track team to qualifying for the Boston Marathon years after his diagnosis.

Their stories offer hope and underscore the critical need to talk about senior care and Alzheimer’s treatment options before it’s too late.
