KC Navarro narrowly missed winning the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship at the Slammiversary event on July 15, 2026, but the experience held special meaning for him. Navarro had the opportunity to compete against his mentor, Amazing Red, in the Ultimate X match, a contest he described as more meaningful than his previous appearance at Rebellion the year before.

"So, this Ultimate X was a lot more special than the first one I was in at Rebellion last year," Navarro told Fox News Digital. "But this year was very special to me because Amazing Red was in it."

Navarro also opened up about his struggle with a fear of heights, which made climbing the pillar to reach the rope and contend for the title challenging. He said, "See, me, I'm not a big fan of heights, so it actually takes me a while to climb that thing and I have to see what I'm gonna do."

He acknowledged that his fear might stem from a previous injury and admitted to overthinking the risks: "Like I just might have been thinking too much like, ‘Oh man what if I get hurt.’ But I mean it's just me man."

Despite these fears, Navarro relies on adrenaline and faith to push through during matches. "I just keep God first. I count on the adrenaline to get me through which it does because once that bell rings – got no choice. Got to go for that belt," he said.

During the match, Amazing Red gained the upper hand in one of the standout sequences, underscoring the competitive dynamic between mentor and mentee.

Navarro continues to compete in TNA Wrestling, recently taking on opponents such as Ryan Nemeth and AJ Francis, with his battle against fear remaining a part of his professional journey.
