A 41-year-old Sacramento man, Jessie Ottman-Comb, was arrested after he accidentally left a backpack containing 355.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine in a rideshare vehicle in San Francisco, authorities reported.

The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) said the incident occurred near the Tenderloin neighborhood, an area known for drug activity and crime. The rideshare driver contacted police Sunday afternoon, leading to the recovery of roughly three-quarters of a pound of suspected methamphetamine.

According to the treatment directory Recovered, the drugs have an estimated street value exceeding $30,000, based on typical prices of up to $100 per gram.

Authorities quickly located Ottman-Comb after coordinating with the rideshare driver to return the backpack to its owner. Officers found him at a motel where a search of his room yielded two cellphones, two tablets, and drug paraphernalia.

Ottman-Comb was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on charges including possession of methamphetamine.
