Byron Donalds, a Republican from Florida, is standing firm on his decision not to participate in debates with his GOP rivals in the state's gubernatorial race. Donalds, who is retiring from the House to run for governor, holds roughly 50% in the polls, while his opponents remain in the single digits.

"I've been consistent," Donalds told Fox News Digital when asked about criticism over his refusal to debate. He argued there is no reason to debate given the large lead he has maintained throughout the campaign.

Donalds also highlighted his campaign's extensive outreach, stating, "They should spend their time going to see the people of Florida because they're not getting much support at all." He noted that his campaign has met voters in all 67 counties of Florida, a claim supported by Fishback, who said, "I’m the only campaign in Florida history running for governor that has met voters in all 67 counties."

His campaign has raised over $90 million, vastly outraising the rest of the field. Donalds emphasized his approach, saying, "I'm not going to play with stunts. I’m not going to engage in that stuff."

Fishback also drew a parallel to national politics, stating, "That's what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris tried to do," referring to broad voter engagement efforts.
