Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old nurse and mother from Southern California, has been missing since July 6, when she was last seen visiting Harrah’s Resort Southern California casino before driving to Palomar Mountain, a location she frequently visited.
Brophy was on her way to pick up her child from summer camp but failed to arrive, prompting her husband to file a missing persons report with the Oceanside Police Department. Attempts to contact her via cell phone were unsuccessful as the phone was either dead or switched off.
Days after her disappearance, investigators found Brophy's car abandoned in a parking lot at Palomar State Park, but there has been no sign of her since.
A missing person poster created by her family describes her as 5'5" tall, weighing 130 pounds, and last seen wearing black leggings and a grey T-shirt.
Her sister-in-law, Lisa Fabregas, described Brophy as "one of the most wonderful, thoughtful women that I know," adding that she is funny, kooky, and a devoted mother who "will do anything for her children."
One of Brophy's brothers expressed hope, saying, "I don’t want to go to dark places," while the family encourages everyone to "stay positive, stay strong."
Authorities continue their search for Angelica Brophy amid concerns for her safety.
