At least 12 detainees at the federal immigration jail in Aurora, Colorado, have contracted tuberculosis in recent days, according to testimony from inside the facility. Dozens of other detainees have reportedly been placed in quarantine as a precaution.
One detainee, who has been held at the Aurora facility since December, told the Guardian through his partner that those affected by the outbreak are enduring isolation without air conditioning.
This outbreak is the latest in a series of health concerns reported at the Colorado ICE jail.
