WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, President Donald Trump responded to questions about the FBI’s investigation into the sudden death of Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., dismissing conspiracy theories and stating that the FBI is "wasting their time".

Trump, speaking from the Oval Office, said he was aware of the various conspiracy theories circulating about his friend and ally but saw no evidence of wrongdoing. "I don’t see a lot of evil there," he said. The FBI had been seen at Graham’s home near the Capitol on Monday, following the senator’s death on Saturday night.

Washington’s chief medical examiner reported that a preliminary examination found Graham died from "aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease," meaning a rupture of his aorta caused by hardened arteries. Toxicology and other tests are still pending.

Trump, who was meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and addressing a crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, said he had reviewed all medical reports related to Graham’s death and received a briefing from White House doctors.

Graham was a prominent supporter of Ukraine and Israel, advocating for tougher sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow. Notably, he had met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv the day before his death.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the agency is "assisting local authorities" in the investigation.
