Five traffic accidents occurred on Tsuen Wan Road within the first three days following the opening of a new single-lane overpass in Hong Kong, prompting transport authorities to add more safety signs to inform motorists of the new traffic arrangements.

The overpass, which opened on Sunday, July 12th 2026, connects the Kowloon-bound fast lane of Tsuen Wan Road near the Kwai Tsing Interchange up-ramp to Kwai Chung Road.

On Tuesday morning, July 14th 2026, three collisions happened within 15 minutes along Tsuen Wan Road, involving eight vehicles in total and resulting in one person being injured. According to police reports, the first accident at 8:24 a.m. involved two private cars and caused no injuries. A second collision occurred at 8:27 a.m., involving three private cars and a taxi. The third accident took place at 8:39 a.m., involving two private cars and injuring a driver.

The series of crashes has led authorities to enhance safety measures by installing additional signage to better alert drivers to the new overpass configuration.
