England's Jordan Henderson will miss the rest of the World Cup after suffering a freak arm injury during celebrations following England's 3-2 last-16 win over Mexico, Sky Sports reported on July 6.

The 36-year-old Brentford midfielder slipped while climbing over a barrier at the Azteca Stadium, causing his forearm to buckle. He was stretchered off the field and given oxygen before being taken to a hospital in Mexico City. Henderson did not return to England's training base in Kansas City with the rest of the squad.

Although an unused substitute in the match against Mexico, Henderson, a former Liverpool captain, is considered one of the team's most respected leaders, known for his experience and calming influence.

England's Football Association has not made any official statement regarding Henderson's participation for the remainder of the tournament.
