The Los Angeles Dodgers donated $1.1 million in 2026 to the California Community Foundation and Labor Community Services, two organizations that provide support to immigrant families impacted by recent immigration enforcement actions in Los Angeles County.
According to the California Community Foundation's website, in 2025 the foundation established a new fund to support local NGOs addressing what it described as a "humanitarian crisis" following immigration raids aimed at arresting violent criminals residing illegally in the area. Similarly, Labor Community Services focuses on supporting immigrant groups and frequently issues statements of support for undocumented immigrants.
The Dodgers, who made headlines in 2025 for winning back-to-back World Series titles—the first team to do so since the New York Yankees over two decades ago—announced the donation amid ongoing debates over immigration enforcement. Los Angeles Dodgers chairman Mark Walter has been publicly active, including speaking at a press conference announcing a partnership with UNIQLO at Dodger Stadium in March 2026.
Separately, Kayleigh McEnany criticized Major League Baseball for what she described as hypocrisy, citing the San Francisco Giants' players being warned for displaying Bible verses on hats, while contrasting this with drag queen performances on the Dodgers' field and "BLM" logos on pitcher's mounds.
